Carlinda D’Alimonte teaches high school
English and Creative Writing in Windsor, Ontario. Currently,
she is Head of English at Walkerville Collegiate Institute, which
offers an arts-based high school program to students in the Windsor/Essex
County area. Prior to her teaching career, she worked for CBC
television, researching and writing for a current affairs programme.
She was also a Sessional Instructor in the Department of Communication
Studies at the University of Windsor. Carlinda has been writing
poetry since she was thirteen, but it has been in the last five
years that she has gone public with her writing. Her

first book of poetry, Now
That We Know Who We Are, charts the emergence of a writer's
mature voice, through the devastating death of her mother, to memories
of growing
up in the 1950s and 1960s as the child of Italian immigrants, and finally
to the stubborn defiance that ultimately gave way to a greater sense
of freedom and acceptance. (Courtesy of www.kairosliterary.com) |
