Francesco Giuseppe Biafora was born in 1946, in San
Giovanni, Fiore (in the province of Cosenza), Italy. He immigrated to
Canada, where he still lives today. Biafora
is a descendant of a wood working masters' family. Francesco
has given life to the woodworking art, passed on from father to
son. He brought to Windsor the Octavian style, through the design
of the wood doors at St. Angela Merici Church. His work reveals
a lecture inspired by the Christian sentiments.
His wife, Anna Iaquinta, uncovers his dream, which is to perpetuate
the name of the Octavians in the churches of San Giovanni
in Fiore, through the completion of the wood interior, as his
previous generations did. |
