Elio Mion immigrated to Canada from Italy at the
age of three. A lifelong citizen of Windsor, Ontario, Elio became
a legend in the photographic community because of his seemingly
limitless knowledge of photographic equipment and processes.
He worked at every level from sales clerk, to part owner of Sun
Parlour Camera, then Wansbrough’s Cameras, eventually settling
in as a master darkroom technician at Skylab. He was sought after
by serious amateurs and professionals alike because of his knowledge,
passion and total dedication to the evolution of the photographic
arts. Elio Mion passed away in September 2003 at the age of 52. |
