Administrator/Builder/Coach - Basketball/Football
Dr. Frank DeMarco was born as a Canadian citizen in Podargoni,
Italy, on February 14, 1921.
He came to Canada in 1929, settling in North Bay, where his father
ran a store. He attended North Bay Collegiate Institute, and the
University of Toronto, where he was an undergraduate from 1938-42.
He remained at the University of Toronto to obtain his Masters
Degree in 1943. He did post-graduate work and was an instructor
in the
Faculty of Engineering from 1943 until 1946. He obtained his Ph.D.
from the University of Toronto in 1951.
His stay at the University of Toronto was during the war years
and intercollegiate competition was suspended, but he played many
intramural sports such as football, basketball, hockey, volleyball,
baseball, swimming, water polo, and lacrosse.
