Administrator/Builder/ Coach - Football/Wrestling
Gino Fracas was born in Windsor, Ontario, on April 28th, 1930.
At Assumption High School he received All-City Football acclaim
in 1947, and, despite early season injuries, he was selected
by "High
News" as a backfielder on the 1948 All-Ontario football
squad. He was a member of two consecutive WSSA & WOSSA championship
teams in 1947-1948. As a youngster, he played first base
for the Windsor Sterlings in the Detroit Federation League, and
semi-pro, in 1951, for the Frood Tigers in Northern
Ontario. Gino was the Mustangs MVP in 1954. Fracas was Head
Coach of the CIAU All-Stars in the 1979 Can-Am Bowl in Florida.
He served as Vice-President of the Canadian Football Coaches Association
in 1969-70. Three times he was on the Intercollegiate All-Star
Team and was a 2-time league scoring leader.
Gino Fracas was inducted into the University of Western Ontario "W" Club
Athletic Hall of Fame in 1984.
He is a member the University of Windsor Alumni Sports Hall of
Fame, and OUAA Football Legends Hall of Fame.
