  From the early 1970s, Italians literally stopped coming to Canada. Since the end of World War II, the Windsor Italian Canadians have made great and amazing progress. They have economic stability, which allows them to get involved in community affairs. Also, they have established a commercial environment with a variety of services.

Besides economic and social advantages Italian Canadians also enjoy a degree of political strength. Their participation in political and cultural life has been increasing in proportion to the number of their Canadian educated children in the various professions, the quality of leisure time, and as prejudice and bias in the larger community decreases.

The Windsor Italian community is a permanent community. Only a small percentage has returned to Italy to stay. Most of them are Canadian citizens. (Walter Temelini, The Italians in Windsor, Polyphony Vol. 7, No. 2)

The Windsor Italian Canadians are products of two ways of living life; they are proud of their Italian origin, as much as they are proud of their adopted country. Italians are contributing in various ways to Canadian life and traditions.
