Giovanni-Battista (John) Ghione arrived in Windsor with his family in October, 1949. He worked for Keystone Contractors. He started in the service station business in 1953. In 1954, he managed the White Rose Station at 485 Tecumseh Rd. E. (P11017). In May of 1962, he opened a new Sunoco Station at 1110 Tecumseh Rd. E. (P11016). He worked in the service station business at various locations for the rest of his life. He was known by the name “Johnny Sunoco”. He was an active member of the Italian community in Windsor.
