Carol Talbot was born in Windsor and attended Prince
Edward Public School, Patterson High School and Forster Collegiate
Institute. She graduated from McMaster University and went on to
teach English in London, Ontario. Talbot is a writer and poet who’s
works have shed light on the experience of African-Canadians in
the region. In 1977 she was the co-author, with George Boyd, of
the book ‘The Saga of Anne-Marie Weems, Fugitive Girl
of 15’. Her book ‘Growing Up Black in Canada’,
which was released in 1984, speaks to the special challenges of
being
African Canadian in the 1940’s. The book also includes selections
of her poetry. Carol lives in London, Ontario and is the mother
of two. |
