Charlene Stewart McCree - photo courtesy of C.S. McCree Charlene Stewart McCree was born in Windsor and attended Patterson Collegiate, London Teacher’s College and the University of Windsor. Ms. McCree is retired from teaching in the Greater Essex County District School Board. She taught at many schools in the region including Dougall Avenue Public School.

Charlene McCree is a poet and writer. Her first book ‘Art Japanese Style’ was published in 1993 by University Editions Inc. It instructs in the art of poetry writing and is written in the Haiku style. Her second book Daily Devotions was an anthology of inspirational poems with a basis in the Bible.
 

McCree has written a novel entitled A Taste of Jazz which was published in paperback 2002. A Taste of Jazz is a suspense story which follows a young woman named Jasmine as she takes a journey home. The novel presents characters of diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Charlene and her husband James live on the shores of Lake Erie. They have traveled extensively including visits to South America, Europe, Asia and Africa.
