  Charlie Stewart was born in Dresden August 29, 1941. Stewart excelled in the realm of boxing and became the Ontario South Western and Eastern Canadian Heavyweight Champion. In 1972 Charlie Stewart won a medal at the Canada Winter Games in Saskatoon. He was an alternate on the 1972 Canadian Olympic boxing team in Germany. In 1973 Stewart became a professional boxer. Charlie Stewart worked for many years at General Motors in Windsor while dedicating himself to helping young boxers learn the ropes. In December of 1992 Stewart became the President of the Windsor

  Amateur Boxing Club and one of 3 coaches of the 2002 Olympic boxing team. Stewart continues to train and support young people in their fight for

success both in and out of the ring. As Stewart has said “ If you help someone along the way, then your life will never be in vain”.
