Brian Kersey was the Steelworkers Union Local 14045 President from 1992 to 1996. He currently works at Sigma Engineering in Windsor. Mr. Kersey also volunteers a great deal of time to the preservation of African Canadian history and heritage. In addition to personally collecting items he has also been the Sandwich Towne Crier and re-enacts the history of Black Town Criers in Southwestern Ontario. Since 1999 he has also been a member of the Provincial Marines who re-enact historic naval battles and activities.

Brian is very active in the community and is very involved in Human Rights issues. For over thirty years he has contributed his time and efforts in various organizations which support this goal including;

The Windsor and District Black Coalition
The Ontario Training and Adjustment Board
Ontario Cabinet Roundtable on Anti-Racism
